Birthday Wishes for My Husband

Explosion box featuring He’s All That bundle and the Trees for sale stamps et and the Tree Lot dies. He’s the Man DSP.

It was my husbands birthday recently and as everyone knows only too well the problems in finding suitable cards and gifts for men.

My husband and I will be going on a camping trip in the summertime, so I thought that I would make him an explosion box, featuring Stampin Ups new stamp sets and dies from the above supplies, I love the little caravan and used the dies to turn them into a 3D version of the caravan. Enjoy the photos, if anyone would like me to do a little tutorial showing how I made the caravan, just leave me a comment. The Mug in the photos, was a Charity Shop find, I think I paid £3 for it, and my husband absolutely loved the explosion box and his new mug.

I made a little mini book that ticks into the pocket for little photos of our camping trip.
The Mug was a perfect accompaniment
Everything folds up beautifully, into the box

Pinkies Birmingham Weekend Swaps

On the 25th and 26th of June was our weekend to meet up as Stampin Up Demonstrators , to share creativity and inspire and be inspired. We had an exciting weekend packed with projects using new papers and stamps from the new annual Catalogue and also the upcoming Winter Catalogue.

We each have to make a small 3d item or card front, that we share with each other, there will be about 40 of us, so we will make 40 small projects and swap with the other 40 people, so we will all end up with 40 swaps each.

I love little bags and made this one as my swap

If you would like to try to make one of these for yourself, they are so easy to make.

Cut cardstock to 9 1\2” x 4”. Score on the 9 1/2” side at 3”, 4 1/2”, 7 1\2” and 9”

In pencil make a mark at 3 3/4” and at 8 1/4” score from the marks you have made to the two corners of the panels as shown, the dotted line is the score line.

Cut your cardstock as shown and score along the dotted lines.

Add glue to the tab, and add your DSP panels 2 x 2 7/8” x 2 3/8”to the panels as shown
Fold in one of the large panels, add glue to the outer flaps then glue down the base
Your bag should look like this.

We will add the straps now, you will need two 6” X 1/2” strips of cardstock, score it down the middle at the 1/4” line, leave 1/2” at the top and bottom of the strip unscored.

Fold and burnish the score line, when you get to the unscored parts, place your bone folder on the 1/2” unscored strip and pinch the scored strip so it forms a v shape, whilst keeping the edges flat, do this on both strips.

Glue the open ends of the strip up to the half inch unscored edges. For the Flap cut a piece of cardstock 2 1/4 “ x 1 1/2” score on the 2 1/4” at 1” and 1 1/4” Add straps to your bag and the flap as shown and decorate.

Express Yourself

It’s my daughters Birthday, I wanted to do something other than a card for her. I wanted to make her something that was personal to her, but something that she could carry on creating herself.

I decided to make her a travellers notebook. I would do sample page spreads to start her off then she could update it as a when she wanted, she would be able to print off memorable photos and use Stampin Up products to decorate her notebook spreads.

I asked her for some of her favourite photos of an occasion she would like to remember and document, she chose some photos of a Unicorn party she and some friends attended in 2019, I got the photos and I chose the DSP and dies and ink pads etc, that would match the photos, Expressions in Ink I thought would be ideal as the colours in the photos were so vibrant, young and fresh, also with that craft fabulous feel and full of bling, my daughter absolutely loves bling, glitter and all things over the top, no plain and simple for her.

I did two spreads and she absolutely loved them, she will do her own journaling, I made two tags and put them into little pockets on the spreads. She is now totally hooked on her travellers notebook, its a great way to keep your own memories, the size is not intimidating for a beginner crafter, there is no right or wrong way to do it, just do what suits you.

Stampin Up products take the headache out of colour matching as everything co-ordinates. I have an etsy shop where I sell retired and current DSP and co-ordinating cardstock, I will be adding my handmade travellers notebooks, covers, and notebooks soon all using Stampin up products, the link to my shop is above. Hope you like the spreads all items used are linked below.

CHRISTMAS MINI ALBUM

Christmas Mini Albums made for my swaps
Each Mini Album came in its own box
Added paper tassel
Inside waterfall pages
Mini Album in the Gift box

Hello crafters, its been a long time since I visited and updated my blog, after the most horrible year for the whole world, I decided that there is no time like the present to enjoy and share with others, whatever your passionate about.

On Sunday 19th September 2021, the PINKIES a STAMPIN UP group that I belong to had a team meet up. It was so lovely to see crafty friends and catch up with everyone, as the last time we saw each other in person was 2019.

I joined a swap group as a way of getting my craft groove back, I had been doing some crafting during the lockdowns, not much though, so I was glad of the opportunity to meet up with fellow crafters for inspiration,

We all received a craft kit to make up during the day, instead I chose to update my blog. For my swap I decided to make a small mini album, in a box for stocking fillers, you can get 20 small 2”x 2” photos in the album, great as little brag books to carry in your purse, not just for Christmas but for any occasion.

What I found out by accident was that the Stampin Up Linen Speciality paper is ideal for mini album spines and an added bonus is that you can colour the linen paper in any colour, you can also stamp on it. Make sure it doesn’t get too wet, as this interferes with the glue on the back, the spines are very strong and durable, I have just ordered more and will encourage friends and customers who love mini albums to give it a try. I have put some photos of how I used it.

Colour or stamp your Linen the colour of your choice, and cut it to size of the spine

Add the spine chipboard to the linen paper
Add the other two pieces of front and back chipboard, leave about an inch overlap top and bottom, and at least 1/4” spacing between chipboard pieces
Make sure to use your bone folder to smooth in between the grooves, either side of the spine.
cut another piece of linen paper and cover over the back side of the spine and use your bone folder to smooth in between the chipboard pieces. This will give your spine good adherance.
add the paper of your choice, and you will have a lovely durable mini album, without worrying if the spine will crack, hope this has been helpful

Big Plans Stationary Box

Hi Crafty friends, just wanted to share this little project. This project was created some time ago by another Stampin up Demonstrator, but you can find a multitude of tutorials online.

This Stationary set was made using the Big Plans Memories & More card pack, page 196 in the annual catalogue. This will be retiring soon so now is the opportunity to grab one while stocks last, they are so versatile for cards, tags, memory keeping and the list goes on.

The designs are so colourful, that its not hard to come up with a beautiful card without trying too hard, so if you are in a hurry and need some cards, tags the stationary box is an ideal thing to make for yourself or give as a gift.

The box holds six standard cards, six three by three cards, six tags. In the front of the box holds a little note pad, a small holder for stamps and a pen for writing. I have made this for my Mom who doesn’t get out and about as much now, and she loves it.
